Scraptastic Tuesday - making blocks

Liberty 9 patches

I was thinking about Scraptastic Tuesday last night so I got out my Liberty scraps and made two more blocks. They took no time at all and my pile of these nine patches is growing. Despite how very traditional these blocks are, I just love them and am looking forward to the soft summer quilt they are going to make.

Curved Shapes

Over this weekend and last night I finished this set of blocks for Diane - Random Thoughts...do or "di" - in Bee Sewcial. She asked for curved shapes and gave us this photo as a colour inspiration, asking for the inclusion of a sliver of black. I had a couple of false starts and I wanted to add in an improv circle, so I am sending her the little bits too.

This only solids bee is, for me, also a place to use and create more solid scraps. My folded solid fat quarters have almost all been cut into several times so they count as scraps I am sure and making these bee blocks is making a lot more smaller solid scraps too. I realized when I made Dance (go here, and there is a giveaway to enter too) that it's fun to pull out the solid scrap bins too.

Nicky, over at Mrs. Sew and Sow, has finished her fantastic scrappy clamshell quilt, check it out here. And please plan to join Nicky and I next Tuesday, the second Tuesday of the month, at the Scraptastic Tuesday link up.

Best,

Leanne
