Architextures for the Blog Hop Party

Picture from Heidi at Fabric Mutt
I have another giveaway, it seems appropriate in the holiday season. Michele is celebrating her 5th Blog Birthday at Quilter's Gallery and since 5 years of blogging is pretty cool, I am joining in.

My giveaway is a 17 piece Fat Quarter Bundle of Architextures, with is the brand new line by Carolyn Friedlander that I have been waiting for - it is just wonderful.

To win, you need to leave me one comment sharing your favourite book, audio book or television series or at least one you might recommend to me. I hope to spend some time over the holidays relaxing under a quilt and would love some ideas to go along with all the movie suggestions I received last week.

Picture from Heidi at Fabric Mutt
This giveaway is open until 9 pm MST Saturday, December 15, 2012 and is open to anyone anywhere in the world. In fact, I don't actually have this fabric in hand, as I had hoped to give away another thing that is still in transit. So I went shopping for this wonderful prize and once I have a winner, I will have the lovely Amanda from Westwoodacres send it to you directly (this is not a sponsored giveaway). I borrowed these beautiful pictures from Heidi who blogs at Fabric Mutt - not only is she really nice, she also takes excellent pictures.

**** I will pick the winner by random number generator after the draw closes. Please make sure you have an email attached to your profile or leave it in your comment. If there is no way to contact you I will immediately draw again. This fabric is excellent, you don't want to miss out. ****

Michele at Quilter's Gallery now has a list of all the bloggers who are celebrating with her up on this page. There will be many excellent giveaways to go and enter and I wish you good luck.

Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

P.S. That other thing I ordered to give away is great too. Watch this space, I will give it away after it arrives, maybe to celebrate New Years.

**** This contest is now closed. I will draw and announce the winner in the morning. ****

More swap goodness for me

It is high time I showed off the wonderful goodies I got in the Scrappy Swap. This swap is share a fat quarter of scraps and a small scrappy item. Look at the most excellent zippered pouch that came to me from Sarah

Hiding on the bottom is this colourful piece of Quilt Blocks by Ellen Luckett Baker, which is next to that lovely bit of Lizzy House fabric on the end. It surprises me sometimes how many different fabrics I now recognize.

Scrappy Swap - text and a lovely hexagon hiding in the lovely zipper bag

Hiding inside this pouch is a beautiful hexie, just to make me smile. And look at that excellent text fabric that Sarah used for the lining.

It has beautiful stitching and more excellent fabric. Oh and I am sure you noticed the red zip.

Scrappy Swap - all this for me!

Look at all the scraps Sarah sent too. This was an excellent package to receive, thank you Sarah!

Triple Zipper Scrappy Pouch

And that is the triple zippered pouch that I sent to Sarah along with a bundle of scraps. Yes, we ended up being paired, which she learned before I did as she received first. This pouch uses Debbie from A Quilter's Table's excellent tutorial which is here.

There is the back, you can see I included an S for Sarah and quilted it heavily.

It was a most excellent swap, thank you to Kat from Diary of a Flutter.Kat for all the hard work to organize it.

In other news, I won Katy from The Littlest Thistle's Sew Mama Sew give away and that means that she is going to make me a paper pieced wall hanging, you can go here to see the fabrics she has picked.

Do come back after dinner tomorrow for another giveaway, I am joining in Michele's 5th Blog Anniversary Blog Hop at Quilting Gallery

The winner of the Bella

Bella

Wow, I have a lot of movies on my list now - thank you to everyone who entered my draw and thank you to Sew Mama Sew for hosting Giveaway Day. If you are looking for a movie suggestion go here and check them out, there is something for everyone.

So there were 719 comments, and my blog numbers them to 200 and starts over every 200 comments. Here is the draw:

And the winner, commenter #325 was Leanne who blogs at Daisy and Jack, and who has become an internet friend of mine. She said:

For me, it is sort of like finding the 4 leaf clover when this sort of thing happens (you know, the name thing). Congratulations Leanne, I will email you for your address and get the beautiful Bella fabrics off to you on Monday.

On the favourite movie front, I did not count but I am sure that the most favourite are the Princess Bride, Love Always, and Pride and Prejudice. Some of my favourites came up, including White Christmas, You've Got Mail, Top Gun, Back to the Future, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - oh and I loved the Devil Wears Prada, Leanne, well and anything else Meryl Streep has ever been in too.

But a lot of my favourites were left out, like Groundhog Day, Mary Poppins,  Annie Hall, Funny Girl, and I could go on and on. And that does not count the scary ones I don't watch so much anymore but I was there on the opening day of Alien, sitting in the front row (one person picked it) and I have seen the Shining many times. Stand by Me is an all time favourite of mine Krista, and I have not even started to consider the serious, though provoking movies. Enough, I am hoping as my kids get bigger and need less of my time to get back to being the movie buff that I once was, as clearly this list is dating me a big bit.

We are into the darkest of the winter days as the solstice approaches, this is the time of year that makes me so glad I make quilts to snuggle under and hibernate (well, nap anyway) or watch a movie. I am going to get myself a copy of the Princess Bride and Love Always, I have to admit to not having seen either - and clearly that is a mistake I need to correct soon. I think I want a television in my quilting area (my bedroom) for Christmas now too.

Feel free to keep leaving me movie ideas whenever you please.

Best,

Leanne

Mod Pop Tops

Mod Pop tops complete

Have a look at the Mod Pop tops so far. They are each so lovely and each so different. There is one more completed top that will not load in my mosiac - it is here and it is also beautiful. It is so fun to see how Julie's Mod Pop pattern works so well with such different fabric choices and in different sizes.

I have to confess that the last one in the mosaic is my huge queen size mod pop which is not complete, but close. The columns are not sewn together and the last edge strips - which are one square wide - are not made yet. I plan to finish it off this weekend because I am keen to start quilting it.

Mermaid Splash- bundle from Fluffy Sheep Quilting

To encourage those of us quilting along, especially those who were hoping to gift their Mod Pop quilts in this holiday season, to get moving, Cindy from Fluffy Sheep Quilting sponsored that beautiful Mermaid Splash bundle as a prize for those who were finished their tops by last Sunday night. Thank you Cindy for supporting our QAL.
As you can see, the winner is Debbie from A Quilter's Table. Debbie not only finished her top last week, she also finished her whole quilt too. You can read her Ta Da post here, which includes pictures from a great photo shoot.

Mod Pop - so far

The Mod Pop QAL will continue, with some people finishing quickly for the holidays and the rest working at a more leisurely pace. As my huge quilt - yes I just could not resist showing you the whole picture of it so far - is for me, there is no rush to be done this month and it might get pushed aside from time to time while I try to manage all my holiday obligations and have fun along the way - I really do love this time of year. I am both excited to start quilting it and daunted at its size, so I expect it might take me a while to finish, we shall see.

If you are looking for my Sew Mama Sew Bella give away, it is here. I have been reading blogs and entering giveaways all week, there are sure a lot of generous quilters - you have until Friday dinner time to enter all the different draws, good luck!

Leanne

Some Bella for Giveaway Day

Bella

If you are new here, welcome to my blog. It is Giveaway Day - which runs for most of this week - at Sew Mama Sew. I have a set of 19 Fat Quarters of Bella, which was designed by Lotta Jansdotter, to give away. She is one of my favourite designers and these fabrics are lovely and fun.

Bella

I made a point of laying these fabrics out at the sunniest point of the day to get some good pictures as we are into the short days of December here in Canada.   I have this set of fabrics to give away because I accidentally ordered it twice - you know, forgot about the pre-order I made - I am sure no one but me ever does that. So I tucked it away knowing that Giveaway Day would arrive.

Bella

To be eligible to win this excellent set of fabrics, leave me a comment letting me know your favourite movie of all time - yes, if you have two or more favourites you can tell me all of them. I am hoping to  snuggle under some quilts, relax and watch some movies over the holidays and need some new ideas.

I am happy to ship anywhere in the world, so everyone is welcome to enter. I will draw the winner at 5 p.m. PST on Friday, December 7, 2012.

**** You must either have an email attached to your profile or leave your email address in the comment to be eligible for the prize. I will immediately draw another name if you skip this step, and since this is such excellent fabric, you don't want that to happen. ****

********** This draw is now over and the winner has been drawn, it is Leanne who blogs at Daisy and Jack, go here to read about the draw. Thank you to everyone who entered and to Sew Mama Sew for hosting Giveaway Day. ************

Remember, there are 5 different giveaway groups at Sew Mama Sew to enter, good luck!

Best,

Leanne
