Oh my!

Cycles 2

At the end of December, I carefully packed Cycles 2 and sent her off to the American Quilter's Society for their show in Phoenix, Arizona which is starting today. It was a total win to be selected to show my quilt at a show where 15,000 people are expected to see it.

Well, it turns out that I get to win again. Cycles 2 has been selected as the first place winner for the Modern Wall Quilts Category, which is the only modern category at the show. I keep looking at their post to make sure I read it right, it is pretty fantastic. I am still absorbing the news - you will know me today, I am the one with the huge smile on her face.

Even better, my talented and inspiring friend Debbie, who blogs at A Quilter's Table, won second place in the same Modern Wall Quilts Category for her wonderful quilt Fissures! It is even sweeter to have such a great and supportive friend win along with me.

I don't recognize the names of the other two winners in the modern category but if you are one of them, please let me know. And I see that overall in the show, 5 Canadians won prizes, which is pretty cool too.

Thank you to the American Quilter's Society and to all of you for inspiring me, encouraging me, and for being such good friends.

Late for work now, but who cares!

Best,

Leanne
